Corridor, guestroom and apartment entry doors with smoke and draft control.
45 to 90-minute wood doors
Mineral core doors for stairwells, shafts and fire barriers, with rated vision panels.
Smoke doors (S-label)
Assemblies tested to UL 1784 for smoke partitions, smoke barriers and corridors.
Acoustic doors
Doors with tested STC ratings for hotel rooms, apartments, offices and studios.
Hotel and multifamily packages
Entry, connecting, bathroom and closet doors per room type, packed by floor.
Matching non-rated doors
Same veneer, paint or laminate as the rated doors, made in the same order.
Code basics
The wall decides the door.
The required rating follows the rating of the wall the opening sits in.
| Wall where the opening sits | Typical door rating | Usual door type |
|---|---|---|
| Fire walls and fire barriers, 3 to 4 hours | 3 hours | Steel. Wood doors are not listed at 3 hours. |
| Fire barriers, 2 hours (incl. shafts, exit stairways, exit passageways) | 90 minutes | Mineral core wood door |
| Fire barriers, 1 hour: shafts, interior exit stairways, exit passageways | 60 minutes | Mineral core wood door |
| Other fire barriers, 1 hour | 45 minutes | Mineral or fire-rated composite core |
| Fire partitions: corridor walls, 1 or 0.5 hour | 20 minutes + smoke and draft (S) | Particleboard or composite core, gasketed |
| Other fire partitions, 1 hour / 0.5 hour | 45 / 20 minutes | Depends on rating |
| Smoke barriers, 1 hour | 20 minutes + smoke and draft (S) | Gasketed, self-closing, latching |
| Exterior walls, 2 hours / 1 hour | 90 / 45 minutes | Interior-grade wood doors are usually not used here |
Based on IBC Table 716.1(2). Ratings, vision panel limits and exceptions vary by code edition and local amendment.
How we supply rated doors
- Every fire-rated door we supply is built and labeled by a manufacturer that holds the listing for that door with a nationally recognized testing laboratory, such as UL or Intertek (Warnock Hersey), and is inspected under the lab's follow-up service.
- The label is applied at the factory. We never apply, move or replace fire labels, and we do not field-label.
- We take your door schedule and hardware schedule, check each opening against the listing, and have doors factory-machined for your hinges, locks, closers and electrified hardware.
- Matching non-rated doors in the same veneer, paint or laminate come from the same order, so a corridor looks the same whether a door is rated or not.
- Documentation for submittals and closeout: listing references, label type per opening, hardware compatibility and installation instructions.
Good to know
A fire door is an assembly: door, frame, hinges, latch, closer, gasketing and glazing must all be listed for the rating. A labeled door in an unlabeled frame, or with the wrong hinges, fails inspection.

Questions
Frequently asked.
Can you supply fire-rated doors that pass inspection in the USA?
Yes. Rated doors are built by manufacturers that hold a UL or Intertek (Warnock Hersey) listing for that door and carry the permanent factory label the inspector looks for. We coordinate size, core, finish, machining and documentation per opening.
Is a European fire rating (EI30, T30) accepted in the US?
No. US building officials accept doors tested to UL 10C or NFPA 252 (positive pressure) and labeled by a listing laboratory with follow-up inspection. A European classification, even for the same door, does not replace that label.
What fire ratings are possible for wood doors?
Wood doors are listed at 20, 45, 60 and 90 minutes. 20-minute doors usually have a particleboard or composite core; 45 to 90-minute doors use a mineral core. 3-hour openings require steel.
Do you supply frames and hardware too?
We supply the doors and coordinate them with your frames and hardware: labeled frames, hinges, locks and closers must match the door listing. On request we quote the complete opening package.
What do you need for a quote?
A door schedule (size, rating, swing, core, face), the hardware schedule or hardware sets, and elevations if there are vision panels or louvers. Drawings in PDF or DWG are fine. You get an answer within 12 hours on business days.
Do you ship to Canada?
Yes. Canadian projects follow the National Building Code and doors tested to CAN/ULC-S104; 20-minute wood core doors are covered by CAN/ULC-S113. We check the listing and label for Canadian use per opening.
Code summary for orientation, based on the International Building Code (IBC), NFPA 80, NFPA 105 and the 2010 ADA Standards. Requirements depend on the code edition your jurisdiction has adopted and on local amendments. The architect of record and the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) decide for your project.
